A peek behind the scenes, creator & founder to take lulu’s garden™ in a new direction.
Hi! I’m Lulu. This is me 5 years ago, my first press photo from a local newspaper on the launch of my natural product business, Lulu’s Garden™.
My inspiration for Lulu’s Garden? My Mom! My mother Helen has been my inspiration for so many things; I watched my mother grow her own company from scratch with oodles of persistence, diligence, and perseverance. As I am coming up on the 3rd year anniversary of my mom leaving this earth after 13 years of living with dementia. I reflect on all that she has taught me in sound mind and in sickness. I have always dreamed of being an Entrepreneur, I’ve dreamt up ideas for as long as I can remember. They say that your best ideas come at the point in time of adversity; I believe this is true. My foray into natural products began as a distraction while taking care of my mother, Helen, who was diagnosed with dementia. I was consumed by worry. Armed with a jar of beeswax and an arsenal of oil-blending knowledge, I decided to whip up a batch of lip balm and hand balm on a whim. I immediately surprised myself; it was good! I then tested it out on friends and coworkers – It was a hit! Inspired by my own drive and my mother’s entrepreneurial spirit, I decided to pursue it as a business.
Next stop, I knew I needed to take my business to the next level with professional marketing. I worked with a local company for almost a year to design my marketing materials and Point of Purchase Display. In 2013, I won the American Package Design Award for my Point of Purchase display, a huge honor to be in the company of big names like Coors, Dove, Rubbermaid, Sharpie, AutoZone & ATT&T. With my new marketing materials and award-winning display, I sought out product reps around the country to launch Lulu’s Garden™ into retail stores & boutiques. Since, 2013, that has been my focus, retail stores, boutiques, and reps. All very good, but I felt like I was missing something. Ah, I know. Alpaca’s. That’s what I need. They say that solopreneurs can benefit from animals for company. So that is what I did.
Meet my boys: Gussy, Fleecy, Marty, and Willie!
Things are rolling along, I personally continue to manufacture lulu’s garden ™ for retail stores & boutiques and yet, I am still feeling like I am missing something! How can I give back? How can I make a difference other than being just another product on a shelf? (I’m an Aquarius. If you are one, you’ll know how I feel. It’s about giving to others. When you can give back, that is when you start to feel fulfilled). Yes! I know… I can offer the opportunity to others a means to bring in extra income to their own families in a fun and relaxed way. That is what I have set out to do. I am offering folks the chance to buy Lulu’s Garden™ Natural Product business-in-a-box for a minimal start up cost and the possibility to earn a commission on top of profits. You can work full time, part time or sometimes. This is not a direct sales company, all profits are yours to keep. This is just a mompreneur’s ambition to be unique, creative, passionate, thoughtful, giving and to keep her undeniable obsession strong. Let’s build community together. Let’s get social. Let me share what I have learned along the way to help you give back to your family and community. I can’t wait to hear from you!
